On September 20th, Disc Golf Romania joined UDisc and the Paul McBeth Foundation's global Throw for More initiative — a worldwide day of disc golf aimed at breaking records and funding new courses in underserved communities around the world.

The concept is simple and powerful: play a round on September 20th, log it in UDisc, and every round contributes to a global count while generating donations towards the Paul McBeth Foundation's mission of installing disc golf courses in communities where the sport doesn't yet exist. The global target was to surpass 124,425 rounds in a single day — and disc golfers from every corner of the world showed up to make it happen.

In Bucharest, we gathered at Parcul Verdi on a 9-basket layout with unlimited re-entry, giving players the chance to log as many rounds as possible throughout the day. The ten most active players — those who completed the most rounds — each took home a disc, with the best score serving as tiebreaker. It was competitive, it was fun, and it was exactly the kind of day that reminds you why this community is special.

By the end of the day, Disc Golf Romania had contributed almost 100 rounds to the global count. Not bad for a community that barely existed two years ago. 💪

A Special Guest from Copenhagen

The day was made even more memorable by the arrival of a special guest — Bogdan, a Romanian disc golfer based in Copenhagen, who made the trip to join us at Verdi and brought a collection of discs to be won through putting and scoring competitions. Meeting Bogdan was a genuine highlight — a reminder that the Romanian disc golf diaspora is out there, connected to what we are building here, and eager to be part of it whenever they can.

Bogdan's visit also came just one month after we welcomed another Romanian disc golfer from abroad — Gabriel, based in the Netherlands, who joined us for a session at Verdi Park and then stayed to watch the PDGA World Championships 2025 together in what turned into a spontaneous and wonderful watch party.

Two Romanians from two different countries, both finding their way back to a disc in hand at Parcul Verdi. That's the kind of story that makes this community worth building.

See you on the course. 🥏🇷🇴
