What a weekend to be Romanian. The Bulgarian Open 2025 at Ezero Park in Burgas delivered one of the most memorable results in Disc Golf Romania's short but rapidly growing history — and the scorecard tells a story that would have been hard to believe just a few years ago. On a beautiful and strategically demanding course nestled in one of Bulgaria's most charming cities, Team Romania didn't just compete — they swept the podiums.
In the FA2 division, it was a clean Romanian 1-2-3, with Andreea Cioc taking the top spot, followed by Gabriela and Eea rounding out an all-Romanian podium. The MA2 division mirrored that dominance perfectly, with Marius Manole claiming first place, followed by Vlad Selaru (after a playoff) and Alexandru "Maf" Ionescu completing another full Romanian sweep.
In the MA1 division, Quentin Young delivered a strong performance to finish in 2nd place — a result that speaks to the rising competitive level of our players on the international stage.
But perhaps the moment of the weekend belonged to Alexandru "Maf" Ionescu, who scored an ACE during the tournament. 🎯 Congratulations — that's one for the history books!
A heartfelt thank you to Disc Golf Bulgaria for hosting such a wonderful event. Ezero Park is a gem of a course, and Burgas is the kind of city that makes you want to stay just a little longer. We cannot wait to come back. 🇧🇬🌊
