The second edition of the Bucharest Open has come and gone, and it has left its mark. Over a thrilling three-round weekend at Verdi Park, Bucharest's home of disc golf delivered everything a tournament should — fierce competition, incredible energy, and the unmistakable feeling that something special is being built here.
When the final scores were tallied, three champions emerged:
🏆 MA1: Mihai Cojocaru 🏆 MA2: Vlad 🏆 FA1: Andreea Cioc
Congratulations to all three, and to every player who competed across the weekend. The level of play, the spirit on the course, and the camaraderie between players painted a picture of a community that is growing with every tournament.
As if the tournament itself wasn't enough, Sunday wrapped up with a fan-favourite Skills Challenge at Verde Stop, where players went head to head in distance, precision, and putting — with some seriously exciting prizes on the line, including discs signed by professional player Jeremy Koling and a Squatch bag.
The winners:
🎯 Longest Drive (Women): Andreea Cioc 🎯 Longest Drive (Men): Mihai Cojocaru 🎯 Precision (Women): Eea 🎯 Precision (Men): Alex Maf 🎯 Putting: Marius Manole
It was the perfect way to close out a weekend full of flying discs, laughter, and good vibes.
None of this would have been possible without the tireless dedication of our Tournament Director, Bill Rountree, whose passion for disc golf and unwavering commitment to growing the sport in Romania are the heartbeat of this event. A special recognition also goes to Matt Hammersten, who coordinated the production of the stunning custom Prodigy Disc M4 discs in premium soft plastic that every player took home as a memento of the weekend.
To both of you — thank you. Your support lifts disc golf in Romania to new heights, and this community is forever grateful.
This is just the beginning. 🥏🇷🇴
