Hillside Transylvania is Romania's only permanent disc golf course — a 9-basket layout perched on the slopes outside Odorheiu Secuiesc, with sweeping views of the Transylvanian mountains and the town below.
Installed in 2024 with the support of the local community, the course mixes open hilltop fairways with wooded technical lines. Elevation changes are real: a few holes drop dramatically toward the valley, while others climb back through pine cover.
In 2026, Hillside hosted the Transylvania Open, the first ever PDGA-sanctioned tournament held in Romania — a milestone moment that put Romanian disc golf on the European map.
Hillside is open to visitors year-round. Bring your own discs, follow the marked tee signs, and take a moment at the top of the hill before you throw.
Fly into Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) or Bucharest (OTP) — both have direct flights from most European hubs.
Pick up a rental car. From Cluj it's ~3h30 east; from Bucharest it's ~5h30 north through the Carpathians.
Or take the train to Odorheiu Secuiesc — connections from Brașov and Sighișoara, scenic but slower.
Coach buses also run daily into Odorhei from Cluj, Târgu Mureș and Brașov. Cheapest option.
Local guesthouse offering special tournament rates for visiting players.
