VERDI PARK

The first permanent disc golf course in an urban public park in Romania. Located in central Bucharest, the course is free to play and shares the park with families, runners, cyclists, walkers, dogs, and everyday city life.

The park sits 2 to 3 meters below street level, giving it the feel of a hidden green hollow in the middle of the city. A broad meadow occupies its center, crossed diagonally by a pedestrian path and framed by mature trees, mulberries, cherry plums, and spontaneous woodland vegetation. Verdi Park also occupies the former northern edge of the historic Floreasca Hippodrome, which operated here until the 1960s.

The course has 9 permanent Innova DISCatcher PRO28 baskets, each with two tee positions: orange and white. It can be played as 9 holes from either tee, or as an 18-hole layout by playing both tee positions for each basket. The full 18-hole layout is about 1150 meters, with 17 par 3s and 1 par 4. Tees are mostly natural dirt for now, with some shots starting from concrete park alleys or gravel surfaces.

The layout is fairly wooded, but not crowded. It has just enough trees to shape lines and reward control while remaining friendly to beginners and enjoyable for experienced players. Most of the course is flat, with slight elevation changes on a few holes. There is no water. Everything outside the park boundary is out of bounds, and marked hazard areas come into play on many holes.

Verdi Park DGC was designed as a public-facing course, not only for players but also for people discovering disc golf from the outside. Hole 1 begins near the park entrance, close to the street, with a downhill drive that is easy to understand, visually appealing, and watchable for passersby. Hole 18 finishes in an open area visible from the main walking alley, with a clear basket and a natural exit flow. The idea is simple: we open at the gate and close on the stage.

Disc golf in Verdi is meant to coexist with the park, not take it over. There are no fences, no fee, and no exclusive sports area. Please stay aware of other park visitors, yield to pedestrians, and use spotters when needed. The course is open to all player levels and offers a peaceful introduction to disc golf in one of Bucharest's most welcoming green spaces.
